The people of Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka council of the state has called on the Anambra state government to probe an indigenous contractor, Master Holdings over the quick dilapidation of the Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu link road that leads to the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
The said road was completed less than three years ago under the Governor Willie Obiano administration in the state.
The Chambers News reports that different portions of the roads have failed despite not being a busy road.
Speaking to our Correspondent, a road user, Mr. Chinedu Akunna expressed shock over the sudden state of the road which clearly points to the fact that the contractors shortchanged the people of the state and the state government in delivering the road.
Contributing, residents of the area, Mr. Anselm Nwosu and Mrs. Cecilia Ubani described the state of the road as total wickedness, as they believed that since the road project is handled by an indigenous contractor from the community, they expect a standard road project that can last the taste of time and asked the state government to remobilize the said contractor back to site and keep to meet the contract specification.
