In a heartwarming show of appreciation, the House of Representatives Committee on the Army has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his unwavering commitment to securing Anambra State, as well as ensuring the well-being of military officers in the state.
Speaking when it paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House in Awka, the committee, led by Hon. David Ogewe, stated that Anambra State’s transformation into a peaceful and secure environment is a testament to good leadership of the Soludo administration.
Welcoming members of the committee, Governor Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, expressed gratitude over the visit and emphasized that security remains a top priority of his administration, even as he acknowledged invaluable contributions of the army in achieving the feat.
He highlighted various youth-centred programmes initiated by the Governor to empower both indigenes and non-indigenes of the state, encouraging young people to embrace these opportunities and become productive members of society.
Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, who thanked the committee for their support and praised the army’s sacrifices in maintaining peace in Anambra, called for continued collaboration between the legislature and the executive sustaining the gains.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Enerst Ezeajughi, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Florence Idigo-Ibenta joined in welcoming the committee and some military personnel.
