Health and Pollution Control Enforcement Team of the Anambra State Ministry of Environment led by the Commissioner, Engineer Felix Odimegwu, has clamped down on unhealthy and illegal water factories in Awka, the state capital.
Commissioner Odimegwu, who spoke after the exercise, stated that the enforcement team sealed off illegal water factories for failure to obey summons after they were served abatement notices by personnel from the Ministry.
The Environment Commissioner reiterated that any water factory that does not meet required health standards will be sealed and operator(s) penalized.
He also announced that the Health and Pollution Control Enforcement Team of the ministry will be going round the state to monitor and penalize any business, hotel, water factory, restaurant, plaza and others that refused to maintain healthy practices such as clean drainages, among others.
Commissioner Odimegwu urged Ndi Anambra to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo in upholding his vision of clean, green, healthy, livable and prosperous Anambra.
