APGA Njikoka Stakeholders List: Party Faithful Accuses LG Chairman Of Excluding Influential Members, Says Party Can’t Afford Fallouts Of Allienation Of Dedicated Party Men

… calls for intervention of Soludo’s Political Adviser, Obiogbolu

A concerned APGA faithful in Njikoka LGA has called on the Office of the Political Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Dr Obiogbolu, to take note of what he described as “last minute exclusion of the name of Hon Emeka Ozumba from the stakeholders list of Njikoka” saying it is a deliberate mischief and unecessary manouvering that does no good for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ward-4, Enugwu-Ukwu and Njikoka in General.

There’s ongoing nomination for people that will replace the present Transition Committees in the 21 local governments in Anambra State.

Mr Chukwudi Okonkwo, Enugwu-Ukwu, APGA-4, urged the Governor’s adviser to “correct this anomally because APGA cannot afford the fallouts of the allienation of dedicated and principled party men like Ozumba and others from the fold”.

He accused the APGA Chairman in Njikoka, Mr Chinedu Anaekwe, of being at the centre of the exclusion drama which he said leaves one wondering what he stands to gain.

In a statement titled “Njikoka: Who is Afraid of Hon Emeka Ozumba?” the concerned APGA faithful explained that “for the APGA philosophy of Onye Aghana Nwanneya to subsist and thrive, there is urgent need for party officials at both state and local levels to eschew all forms of favoritism if Mr. Governor’s correct intendment for APGA is to be achieved”.

The statement reads:

“It appears that the novel attempt by Mr. Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to institute a semblance of democracy in the selection of Transition Council members across the twenty-one Local Government Arears of the state may be turning out counter productive by fracturing the party internally. The fears are founded on the bickerings and bad blood generated in the course of jostling for various positions in the Wards and the Local Government Areas- a situation exercebated by deliberate schemmings to exclude some influential stakeholders from the exercise in order to achieve predetermined goal. The last minute exclusion of the name of Hon Emeka Ozumba from the stakeholders list of Njikoka is a clear case of deliberate mischief and unecessary manouvering that bodes no good for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ward-4, Enugwu-Ukwu and Njikoka.

Hon Emeka Ozumba is a former Deputy Chief Press Secretary and member of EXCO during Governor Obiano administration. A Ward leader, sponsor and dedicated party man whose leadership credentials and calm disposition has endeared him to party faithfuls over the years. A political Communications strategist, Hon Ozumba was Deputy Director Media, APGA Campaign Directorate, Soludo for Governor 2022, and a prolific writer whose contributions to APGA over the years is largely understated due to his quiet mien and disposition which lead some who may not know his value and insightful inputs to take him for granted.

I became concerned when list of stakeholders was released and called the attention of some officials to the obvious error. I am aware that in the ranking of political apppointees in Njikoka, Ozumba ranks high and comes immediately after Commissioners, hence my alarm. At the meeting held at Ozonkpu, Clem Nwafor’s house on Friday 17th May 2024 to find common grounds for Umunri aspirants to the Office of TC, Chairman, I overheard the complain about the exclusion. Even when I confronted Ozumba, he told me he is aware and won’t border showing up if his input is not needed. There is no doubt that APGA Chairman Njikoka, Hon Chinedu Anaekwe is at the centre of the exclusion drama which leaves one wondering what he stands to gain.

I am worried that the deliberate exclusion may be hurting rather than helping APGA. I am therefore using this opportunity to call on the Office of the Political Adviser to Mr. Governor, Dr Obiogbolu, to take note and correct this anomally because APGA cannot afford the fallouts of the allienation of dedicated and principled party men like Ozumba and others from the fold.

Moreover, for the APGA philosophy of Onye Aghana Nwanneya to subsist and thrive, there is urgent need for party officials at both state and local levels to eschew all forms of favoritism if Mr. Governor’s correct intendment for APGA is to be achieved.
