… as Njikoka Two constituents give accounts of quality representation

The Executive Director of Justice, Development and Peace Caritas, JDPC, Reverend Father Levi Ukor, has explained that the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Jude Akpua, was able to reach out to many people with democracy dividends through partnership with JDPC.
Fr. Ukor, who spoke to journalists at Abagana during the one-day constituency briefing held at Njikoka Local Goverment Secretariat, counted the result of the partnership as one of the successes of the day.
The event organised by the Office of the House member representing Njikoka Two Constituency, Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua, in partnership with JDPC attracted traditional rulers, community, party and religious leaders, and featured testimonies of uncommon representation by constituents.
Fr. Ukor noted that JDPC is a social arm of the Catholic Church through which it interfaces with the society, with priority attention to good governance, education, scholarship and empowerment as ways of helping people in the society.
He further explained that JDPC enters partnership with people who show interest during their advocacy visits, adding that partnership with political stakeholders is part of the works of the church in ensuring that democracy dividends gets to the grassroots.
The priest said so far the lawmaker, Dr Akpua, is doing well in the legislature, expressing belief that he will do more in coming years.
Giving brief account of his stewardship within one year at the legislature, Dr. Akpua said he has remained committed to giving his constituents quality representation, oversighting the executive arm of the government for the good of the people, and making people-oriented laws.
He solicited prayer and continued support of his constituents to enable him do more in coming years, saying that he will continue to emulate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development initiative.
A constituent and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, said he’s been vindicated that Dr. Akpua came prepared for quality representation, and thanked him for constantly consulting for the good of his constituents, reminding others what the lawmaker forgot to mention he attracted in his Abagana community.
Though from Njikoka One Constituency, the Deputy Chief of Protocol to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Chief Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), who attended the event, said Dr. Akpua has burning desire to give Umuowelle quality representation at the legislature.
There were other televised constituents accounts of the good works of Dr. Akpua within one year at the Anambra State assembly.
In his remark, the Traditional ruler of Abba where the lawmaker hails from, Igwe Leonard Eze, attested that the good works of Dr. Akpua earned him the title of “Omekannia”, saying that his community is proud of his achievements so far, just as he thanked Abagana and Nimo communities for giving Abba community the opportunity to occupy the position.
