Njikoka LG Mayor, Ononiba Receives Anambra CP On Security Advocacy, Assessment Visit

In his efforts to strengthen security in Anambra, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has continued to sustain advocacy and security assessment in the twenty-one local government areas of the state.

This is to enhance collaboration with community leaders, indigenes, residents in order to improve safety.

A release signed by Anambra PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenna, explained that during the interaction with the stakeholders, the CP emphasized the importance of community policing and calls for an honest and patriotic involvement in identifying and prioritizing people’s differences to develop deliberate plans for addressing the problems.

He also reiterated that there is a common enemy that has restricted people’s movement on Mondays, crippled businesses of Ndi Anambra, and commits havoc in the State.

The CP urged the people to join the Police and other security agencies to “take back our space” and deny these criminal elements the space they use to cause tension in the State.

Responding, the Chairman of Njikoka Local Government, Barr. Chinedu Donminc Ononiba, pledged to sustain the security advocacy for indigene and other residents of the local government area..

In attendance at the event were Traditional rulers, Njikoka LGA Executive Council members, members of PCRC, Vigilante operatives, etc.

CP Itam also visited the Traditional ruler of Abagana, Igwe Patrick Mbamalu Okeke, to seek his cooperation and use his position as the custodian of cultural heritage to open a channel of communication to sustain the security advocacy and join in the voice in condemning any act that threatens our national peace.
