Awka South Mayor, Ide Umuawulu Present as Ozoemena Ogbonna Joins APGA

Membership in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has grown in Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), with the addition of Comrade Ozoemena Daniel Ogbonna, a distinguished son of the community and a Port Harcourt-based freight forwarder.

In the presence of the Mayor of Awka South LGA, Prince Chinedu Okafor, and another prominent Umuawulu son, High Chief Dr Azubuike Austin Ekweozor,Rff (Ide Umuawulu, Nwanayoeze), founder of the Ide Global Movement, Comrade Ozoemena was formally introduced to the APGA family by the party Chairman of Umuawulu Ward, Mr. Nathan Okpara. Awka South Local Government APGA Chairman, Barrister Lawrence Ezeudu, conducted the necessary procedures to officially welcome the new member.

In his welcome address, the immediate past Chairman of APGA in Umuawulu Ward, Chief Chukwuma Nwafor, encouraged Comrade Ozoemena to spread the message of “Solution” to the people of Obizi, Awka South, and all of Anambra State. He also thanked Chief Ekweozor for his continued financial support and for empowering party executives.

APGA Woman Leader, Mrs. Chinyere Okpala, who was among those gifted shuttle buses by Chief Ekweozor, also expressed her gratitude, thanking him for his constant accessibility and support for the party.

High Chief Dr. Azubuike Ekweozor, in his extensive remarks on the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election, reaffirmed his unwavering support for APGA. He urged the people of Anambra to back Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s developmental initiatives and ensure his re-election, describing APGA as the party to beat in the upcoming election.

Prince Chinedu Okafor, Mayor of Awka South LGA and former Director-General of Chief Ekweozor’s 2023 House of Representatives campaign, thanked party executives and stakeholders for their dedication to advancing the party’s cause. He also praised Chief Ekweozor for his continuous support, calling him the party’s lifeblood.

In appreciation for the party’s commitment, Chief Ekweozor distributed one million naira to the immediate past Chairman, Councilors, Awka South APGA Chairman, Ward executives, and the Women’s Leader to help alleviate the challenges of the current economic climate.

The event concluded with Hon. Stanley Nkala, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Awka South, giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the party.
