The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Godwin Aghaulor, and Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, have decorated 15 newly promoted officers.
The officers, whose new ranks range from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), were honored during a ceremony held in Anambra State.
Among the promoted officers is the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zone, Josephine Ihunwo elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
Her promotion, alongside 14 others, is seen as a recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to justice and equity.
Addressing the newly decorated officers, Mr Aghaulor stated that promotions signify both recognition of past achievements and the expectation of greater responsibilities.
He congratulated the officers and urged them to see their new ranks as a call to tackle bigger challenges.
Speaking after her decoration, Ihunwo expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Service Commission for her promotion.
The PPRO also commended AIG Aghaulor for his unwavering support toward officers under his command.
CSP Ihunwo assured that her promotion from Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Police marks the beginning of renewed efforts in ensuring peace and security in her jurisdiction.
Chief Echezona Obi and Pastor David Okereke of the Palace of Mercy Prophetic Ministry, Nkpor, described CSP Ihunwo as a dedicated officer who handles cases with attentiveness and fairness, prioritizing the satisfaction of victims.
Pastor Okereke further praised her devotion to Christianity and her exemplary approach to resolving conflicts.
He prayed for her continued success and wished her “grace upon grace” in her career.
