Anambra State Government To Dualize Ekwulobia – Nnobi Road

In keeping with his promise of dualizing major roads that connect the four urban centres in the state, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has awarded dualization of the Ekwulobia-Nnobi road.

 

The road was awarded during the 14th Anambra State Executive Council Meeting held at Light House Awka on Monday.

 

According to a press release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, the road majoring 32.6 km project, was awarded to Geld Construction Ltd in the sum of ₦28.85 billion naira.

 

You would recall that major dualization of roads in the state has been awarded by the Soludo administration since inception as a way of connecting the state’s urban town and satellite communities while opening up the belt to infrastructural and economic development.

 

Some of the roads include the Amawbia to Akokwa road which transcends through Ekwulobia, the Nwagu-Agulu to Okija which traverses through Nnewi and terminates on the Onitsha-Owerri Express road and Nkpor to Nnobi roads which connects Onitsha metropolis to Ekwulobia and Nnewi.

 

Other major projects awarded during the council include the supply and installation of mechanical appurtenances at College of Nursing Sciences, Isuofia awarded to Crystal Dove Construction Company Ltd in the sum of N110,653,459.38; construction of Metallic View-Point Barricade at the Light House, Awka; awarded to Muterbonch & Company Nig Ltd in the sum of N488,431,355.92 and construction of outstanding road segments in Okpoko Area which was awarded to IDC Construction Ltd in the sum of N2,028,140,956.25.

 

The council also approved the release of N95,824,355.00 as payment for Geophysical Survey/Mapping charges to Calyzid Ventures for 2,018.319 hectares of land and awarded the sum of N96,860,800.00 for procurement, installation, and deployment of Digital Multi-Band Jammers to Intertrek Solutions and Services.
