
The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the November 8th Anambra Governorship election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has said that the state is yearning for better governance, reason the Ukachukwu/Ekwunife ticket should be supported.
Speaking in an interactive session with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, at the Goodwin Ezeemo International Press Center Awka, Prince Nicholas said that a man of God is needed to rebuild Anambra.
Represented by the Southeast Organizing Secretary of the APC, Chief Dozie Ikedife Jnr., the APC Governorship candidate said that not much has been done in education, primary health care and other critical sectors of the state economy, reasons he should be supported to make Anambra better.
On agriculture, the Osumenyi-born politician, Prince Ukachukwu, said he will encourage young people trough grants in order to meaningfully engage them, thereby addressing insecurity and encouraging experts.
He condemned the recent Oko and Ogboji killings as senseless, just as many others he said the list is endless, and promised to tackle insecurity head-on.
On why he has seemed not around in Anambra politics except during election, Prince Ukachukwu said that despite ravaging insecurity, he has continued to touch lives through infrastructural development and charity works, describing himself as “a well entrenched man” in Anambra, and has contributed in the development of the state in various ways.
On how to make Ndi Anambra embrace APC, Prince Ukachukwu stated that a political party is popular as its candidate and what he is bringing on the table.
On how to heal internal wound from party primary, the APC candidate said time will heal all wounds, especially when there’s transparent primary election, urging others to take advantage of reconciliation and support the party.
He promised to be more media friendly, and solicited support of the media to achieve set objectives.
In his remark, the Anambra NUJ Chairman, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, thanked Prince Ukachukwu for his presence, saying that the interactive session was to hear from him and know the plans he has for Anambra.
