RULAAC, PSPF Grieve Death Of Former Anambra PPRO, Muhammad

… says his type in short supply in NPF

The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC), and the Anambra State Police Partnership Forum (PSPF) said they are deeply pained by the sad news of the demise of former Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Muhammad, whose type they said is in short supply in the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.

 

Until his death, CSP Haruna was the second in command at the State Intelligence Department of the Gombe Police Command, and was described as ‘a seasoned and dedicated police officer’.

 

In a release signed by Okechukwu Nwanguma; for RULAAC, and Prince Chris Azor; for PSPF, the groups said they came to know and worked closely with the late CSP Haruna within the period he was the Police Public Relations Officer at the Anambra State Police Command under CP Abang (nowAIGretired), up to 2022.

 

They described the late cop as one of three deserving police officers under the Anambra State Command who were publicly recognized and given awards for outstanding professional performance, with Mohammed given an award for Effective Public Relations and Community Engagement.

 

The statement reads:

Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) and the Anambra State Police Partnership Forum (PSPF) are deeply pained by the sad news of the demise of CSP Muhammad Haruna.

His demise was announced by the Gombe State Police Command via a Press Release dated 21/07/2024.

Until his demise, CSP Haruna was the second in command at the State Intelligence Department of the Gombe command. He was described as ‘a seasoned and dedicated police officer’.

RULAAC and PSPF came to know and worked closely with the late CSP Haruna within the period he was the Police Public Relations Officer at the Anambra State Police Command under CP Abang (now AIG retired), up to 2022. He was one of three deserving police officers under the Anambra State Command who were publicly recognized and given awards by the PSPF for outstanding professional performance.

On July 20, 2022 at one of its meetings which was also an award event, the Anambra State Police Partnership Forum presented awards of recognition to three officers for professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

CSP Haruna Mohammed was one of them. He was recognized and given an award for Effective Public Relations and Community Engagement as PPRO Anambra State Police Command.

Other officers included a former Commissioner of Police in the state, CP John Abang (now AIG retired), who was recognized for promoting Police-Citizens Engagement and Professional Standards as CP Anambra. The other recipient was CSP Rabiu Garba (now ACP), who was recognized and honoured for Effective Community Engagement, Professional Service and Courage, as the DPO Fegge Police Division, Onitsha.

We are deeply saddened by this untimely demise of this professional, dedicated, and hardworking officer whose type is in short supply in the NPF. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and the Nigeria Police Force and pray that his soul will find eternal rest in peace while his family finds comfort and solace.
