Anambra Lawmaker, Dr Akpua Receives NUJ Legislator Of The Year Award

The member representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Jude Akpua has bagged “Legislature of the year, 2023“ award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, South East Zone.

Dr Akpua, who is the Deputy Majority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly, received the award at the “2024 South East Media Summit and Awards” held in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Expressing his feelings, Dr Akpua, with the Chieftaincy title of “Omekannia Abba”, said as a lawmaker, he is following the footsteps of Governor Chukwuma Soludo who, within two years in office, has done much for people and residents of Anambra State.

He thanked NUJ, especially in the South East, for its commitments in setting standards in the society, urging sustenance.

Congratulating the lawmaker on the award, Awka-based journalist and one of Dr Akpua’s constituents, Joseph Egbeocha, said so far the lawmaker has been doing well in the legislature, recalling that recently, Governor Soludo signed Dr Akpua’s peace-building bill and ten others into law for the good of the society.

Others who congratulated Dr Akpua on social media, including Chukwuemeka Okechukwu(@ Okechukwu Chukwuemeka De Wisdom) and Mr Chukwuma Ekwealor described the Dr Akpua as exceptional legislator, and wished him more blessings and awards.
