A cross section of teachers and students of the benefitting 22 secondary schools selected across the 21 local government areas of the state as the pilot schools of the Solution Smart School Initiative have expressed happiness with the introduction of the initiative by Governor Chukwuma Soludo
The teachers and students expressed their happiness when The Chambers News visited the schools in Awka, Enugwu-Ukwu and Umunnachi to monitor the level of work done which is billed to be flagged off by the Governor in the next academic section.
Reacting to the importance of the programme, the Principal of Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka in Awka South Council area, Mrs. Amaka Ifebili and Vice Principal of Ide Secondary School, Enugwu-Ukwu, Mrs. Gloria Nwaokoye said Governor Soludo’s has implemented very critical reforms in the education sector which addresses the shortage and quality of manpower and infrastructural deficit in schools.
They were optimistic that the move will digitize teaching and learning in all the public schools in the state.
According to them, the era of analogue teaching like carrying of lesson notes, writing with maker or chalk and writing attendance has become a thing of the past as projectors, tablets, smart boards, audio-visual tools, digital attendance systems and classroom management software which will be powered by reliable internet access and connectivity is already on ground to be installed.
For the students, Chukwuemeka Okoye, Chimdindu Nnaemeka and Ebelechukwu Ezieke who appreciated Governor Soludo for securing a brighter future for them and assured that with the world class smart school, they will explore and compete at the highest levels with their counterparts world over.
A parent, Architect Ikenna Onuorah, said the project will enhance huge learning experience, personalized learning, real-time assessment and feedback, improved teacher efficiency, and access to information, inclusivity and accessibility and assured the government of their unalloyed support to the second term bid of Soludo administration .
