The people of Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, have witnessed another milestone in healthcare development as the Mayor of the Council, Hon. Romanus Ibekwe, distributes medical equipment to health centres across the local government.
The ceremony, which brought together Presidents General of communities, women leaders, councillors, health workers and other stakeholders, was part of the implementation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Solution Health Agenda aimed at transforming healthcare delivery in the state.
The distribution of the medical equipment is expected to strengthen the capacity of health centres in Anaocha to serve rural dwellers better.
It follows earlier interventions by the council which provided free medical insurance to over 1,000 residents, reflecting a steady expansion of health support schemes in the area.
Hon. Ibekwe also announced that every health centre in Anaocha will now be equipped with ambulances to improve emergency response. Moribund ambulances that have been abandoned for years will also be restored to functionality, ensuring rapid mobility during medical emergencies.
The chairman further appreciated individuals and groups who have supported the health sector in the local government, urging them to sustain their contributions. He stressed that community prosperity depends on the wellbeing of the people, adding that the new interventions signal a commitment to building a healthier and more productive Anaocha.
The event was received with enthusiasm by community leaders and health workers who expressed optimism that the interventions would significantly improve the quality of healthcare across the local government.
