… Prince Igu Idika (PhD) letter to Gov. Nwifuru of Ebonyi State!
Your Excellency, I hope this letter meets you well. Your government has for the few months in office been adjudged as government with human face, with reported focus on People’s Charter of Needs. And you have made plausible marks in the health sector with the purchase of SUVs for doctors and ambulances for the hospitals in Ebonyi State. The kick-starting of gratuity payment to retirees and other reported special privileges to Civil Servants have inched good imprint in the heart of Ebonyians.
It is not out of place to say that you are actually determined to ticking off the people’s needs boxes. But while on this, you need to give more attention to the needs of the now and get them ticked.
The water scarcity in Ebonyi State is one need if met will outlive you and inch your name on the breastplate of the people. And it is quite possible to achieve 24/7 water supply in Ebonyi State, most especially the Capital City and its environs with the reviving of the water schemes in the State. The Oferekpe water scheme and other schemes if revived will place Ebonyi State at the front row as State with 24/7 water supply and as well generate revenue for the State.
The reported reviving of the Pipe Production Company by your government is apparently an answered prayer to the water needs of the people, as the government will not be needing to source for pipes for water reticulation, but have avalanche of pipes to take water to our homes. Your Excellency, you are a few inches away to ending the water scarcity in the State and I pray you put resources and your full attention into actualising this.
In your People’s charter of needs boxes, tick the boxes that take care of our immediate(core) needs, while bearing in mind the long-term needs. As the people need projects and policies that can mitigate the prevalent hunger and hardship in the country.
Please accept the full assurance of my Commission your Excellency.
Yours in service,
Prince Igu Idika, PhD (Affidavit)
Commissioner, People’s Needs Commission, PNC.
